Job is like a marriage
Job is like a marriage

A few days before there appeared an article in the daily Newspaper about the Job is like marriage. This seems to be an interesting viewpoint for a recruiter’s perspective. A recruiter, who arranges a rendezvous (interview) between Bride & Groom (Candidate and Company) and then arranges their marriage (Offer Letter), is indeed similar to working out of a marriage. But, the marriage does not end there. It is an association between a company and employee to work out a common goal more effectively. Initially for the candidate also it seems to be a long binding association with the employer, however not for all this marriage works for long. The life brings new novelties, better horizons and drift in the career graph. In the midst of all this the most people think that this is part of ups and down of the marriage with the company, Where as others think rationally and make their move. The life is not always about to move on. But it is necessary when it is most desired to be. To be in fix that you have to make this marriage with the company must work cause unnecessary stress and bring misfortune in the times of distress. Persisting hard in the tough times and proving your mettle with all your might brings you out stronger. At the same time, making decisions about your career with the better moves sometime proves out to be a smart move with better results. Results always bring you name and fame. No matter the way it is being achieved as long as it is considered as the fair deal. Before any one explains you any further on Job as a simile to marriage affair, look at a few lines below.

  • Only similarity in a job and marriage is you can do both on attaining the age or 18.
  • To run a family you require one spouse to run a company you require many employees.
  • Finding a spouse requires EQ where as finding an employee requires IQ.
  • On average a person changes 4-5 jobs in his career. Whereas, law allows to marry for once.
  • The marriage is governed by law where as no rule to change number of jobs.
  • A person takes leaves from job to spend time with family but there are few take leave from spouse to spend time on job.
  • Every one works to sustain family. No one pays to employer to sustain company.
  • Divorce from spouse requires the legal proceedings to prove where as quitting a job requires an email only.
  • Japan has system of life time employments but it also has largest number of bachelors too.
